Custody, release, bond, visitation, and official record questions must go to the Oswego County office or outside custody system that controls the record. This private site can point readers toward the jail, sheriff records, court clerks, DOCCS, BOP, ICE, and written FOIL routes, but it cannot act for any of those offices.

This is a private reference site, not an Oswego County government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, schedule visits, pull official booking records, or change court information. Use the official office that controls the record or custody status.

Where to Route Oswego County Jail and Record Questions

For local custody questions, start with the Oswego County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division and the jail at 39 Churchill Road, Oswego, NY 13126. Jail Administration is 315-349-3300, After Hours is 315-349-3388, the Corrections Administrator is 315-349-3327, and Visiting Information is 315-349-3346. The visitation research notes say Jail Reception schedules visits by phone between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

For sheriff records or incident-report questions, the sheriff contact page lists Incident Reports / Sheriff Records at 315-349-3320 and sheriffrecords@oswegocounty.com. Oswego County's FOIL page says verbal FOIL requests are not accepted, so public-record requests should be made in writing through the county's FOIL path. The county separates sheriff-records requests from all-other-records requests.

For court-file records, use the court that has the case. The Oswego County Clerk maintains Supreme and County Court criminal and civil records and lists 315-349-8615 for more information. New York Courts lists Oswego County Court at 25 East Oneida Street, Oswego, NY 13126, with County Court phone 315-207-7504 and Supreme Court phone 315-207-7500; regular court office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state and federal holidays. City cases may route to Oswego City Court at 315-207-7251 or Fulton City Court at 315-207-7231, depending on the arrest and filing court.

  • For someone held in the local jail, use the county Corrections Division inmate-lookup path through VINELink and the jail inmate records page.
  • For booking photos, use the local mugshot guidance and written sheriff-records request route described on jail roster mugshots.
  • For charges filed after an arrest, check court records after a jail arrest, WebCriminal, the proper city/town/village court, or the Oswego County Clerk for Supreme and County Court files.
  • For the local detention facility, use the Oswego County Jail / Oswego County Correctional Facility page and the jail contacts above.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner transferred out of the county jail, use the New York State DOCCS incarcerated lookup, not the county jail.
  • For federal prison custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator; for immigration custody, use ICE's Online Detainee Locator System. Those systems are separate from Oswego County and DOCCS.
